how can i tell if my xbox 360 is getting to hot?

is there anything that will notify me on weather its too hot i have heard about the RROD but its looking like once that happens the xbox is knackered is there not a temperature gauge or something i really don’t want my xbox to over heat ive had it for 2 years now still works fine i always have it laid down all vents are free and exposed doesn’t collect dust like loads of people say i just want to know if there’s anything flashes up on tv saying its hot before the RROD happens or something in the settings i haven’t really explored the settings didn’t want to feck anything up it never feels hot yeah it gets i tiny bit warm not much hardly noticeable i just want to prevent overheating that’s all

    heres my tips
    1-feel the bottoom of the battery pack
    2-take out the disk and feel it
    3-put your hand in the back of the 360 where all the air is and if its warm its to hot
    Hope that all of that helped u at all
